Global Smartphone Sales Reach Seasonal High in First Quarter of 2024
A recent report by the international analytical company Counterpoint Research has revealed that revenue from smartphone sales reached a seasonal high in the first quarter of 2024. Global smartphone shipments grew by 6% year-on-year to a total of 296.9 million units.
The study indicates that the current state of the smartphone market is marked by a significant increase in sales of devices priced at $800 and above. Despite experiencing a revenue decline of over 10% compared to the previous year, Apple maintained its position as the largest smartphone vendor by value. In terms of quantity, Samsung emerged as the leader, holding 20% of the smartphone market share.
Notably, the Chinese company Xiaomi showed the fastest revenue growth among the top five leaders in the global smartphone market. Geographically, the growth in smartphone market sales during the first quarter was primarily concentrated in regions such as Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
