Record Number of Applicants Seek Kyrgyzstan Citizenship in 2024
More Than 23,000 People Applied for Kyrgyzstan Citizenship in Last Year
In a recent announcement by the deputy head of the Population Registration Department, Bekzat Ibraimov, it was revealed that more than 23,000 individuals applied for citizenship in Kyrgyzstan last year. The majority of these applicants were ethnic Kyrgyz who migrated from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
However, it was also noted that in 2024, only around 1,000 Russians were granted citizenship by the authorities in Kyrgyzstan. This information was shared during a meeting of the Parliament.
Deputies Dastan Bekeshev and Emil Toktoshev raised concerns about the increasing number of advertisements on the Internet offering to sell Kyrgyzstan passports or promising swift citizenship acquisition. This prompted Bekzat Ibraimov to address the issue by informing the public that these were scams.
Ibraimov further emphasized that these fraudulent activities were being addressed by law enforcement agencies, and citizens were being warned about falling for such false advertisements. It is important for individuals seeking citizenship in Kyrgyzstan to be cautious and verify the legitimacy of any offers they come across, to avoid being misled by fraudulent schemes.
