Referendum declared valid with attendance over 62%

Uzbekistan’s referendum on adopting a new version of its constitution has been recognized as having taken place, according to Bakhrom Kuchkarov, the deputy chairman of the country’s Central Election Commission (CEC). The Law “On Referendum” stipulates that a referendum is considered to have taken place if more than half of the citizens on the voter list participate.
