Regional Energy Theft Cases Uncovered

Cases of illegal use of electricity have been identified in the Fergana and Samarkand regions, as reported by the PGO Department.

According to the department, individuals from a private enterprise in Fergana replaced the electric meter in a non-residential building on Roshidonii Street and illegally consumed electricity amounting to 301.6 million soums.

In the Jomboy district, it was discovered that responsible persons from two farms connected water pumps on their land plots to the power grid for commercial purposes, resulting in the illegal consumption of electricity worth 156.1 million soums.

Furthermore, during a pre-investigation check conducted by the Altyaryk district department of the PGO, it was found that individuals from a farm illegally consumed electricity amounting to 62 million soums by tampering with electricity meters installed on water pumps.

Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 169 (Theft) of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are currently underway.

These incidents highlight the importance of monitoring and enforcing regulations to prevent illegal use of electricity and ensure fair distribution of resources. Authorities are working diligently to address these cases and hold the responsible parties accountable for their actions.
