Heads of Security Services of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan Meet to Discuss Regional Security
The heads of security services of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan recently convened in the city of Fergana to address various issues related to regional security. The meeting, which took place on May 6, was aimed at discussing ways to ensure security in the region.
According to a statement from the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (SCNS), Kamchybek Tashiev, Saimumin Yatimov, and Abdusalom Azizov engaged in comprehensive discussions on a wide range of security challenges. These included topics such as combating terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, illegal migration, smuggling, and other cross-border threats.
The officials also exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of cooperation in addressing these issues. Additionally, they explored ways to enhance cross-border cooperation and foster good neighborly relations between the three countries.
During the meeting, agreements were reached to expedite the processes of delimiting the Kyrgyz-Tajik and demarcating the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state borders. Practical measures were also outlined to tackle these border-related issues in a manner that aligns with the mutual interests of all parties involved.
