Relative of Presidential Adviser Named Batken Mayor

In a recent development, Temirbolot Abykeev, the nephew of presidential adviser Cholponbek Abykeev, has been appointed as the Mayor of Batken city. This announcement was made by the press service of the President.
Temirbolot Abykeev previously served as the head of Kara-Suu district. However, in July 2024, he was arrested by the State Committee for National Security on suspicion of accepting a bribe.
The State Committee for National Security revealed that they had received information implicating Temirbolot Abykeev in a criminal case involving the illegal allocation of land plots in Yntymak aiyl aimak. It was alleged that he had accepted a large sum of money from a local official in exchange for favors.
Despite these accusations, it was later reported that the criminal case against Temirbolot Abykeev was dropped due to insufficient evidence.
