Remembering Ahmed Sami Topcan 18 Years Later
Ahmet Sami Topcan, the founding president of the Cyprus Turkish Football Federation, will be remembered on the 18th anniversary of his death. A commemoration ceremony will take place at his grave, located in Nicosia Cemetery, tomorrow. The service will begin at 17:30.
In addition to the ceremony, the “Ahmed Sami Topcan Cup” will be played on May 12th by the Federation organization. The match will be between Famagusta Turkish Power, the AKSA A2 Super League champions, and Yeniboğaziçi, the AKSA A2 First League champions. The game will take place at the Fazıl Küçük Stadium and begins at 19:00.
Ahmet Sami Topcan was a significant figure in the Cyprus Turkish Football Federation, and his contributions to football continue to be recognized even after his passing. The commemorative ceremony and cup match will be a celebration of Topcan’s legacy and will honor his memory.
