Republic Day Celebrated at Turkish House in NYC
The Turkish House in the USA hosted a Republic Day reception on October 29, which was attended by many guests and members of the Turkish community. The event was hosted by Turkey’s Ambassador to Washington, Sedat Önal, and its Consul General in New York, Ambassador Muhittin Ahmet Yazal.
The program kicked off with the reading of the National Anthem and the US national anthems, followed by a video message from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Ambassador Sedat Önal expressed his joy and pride on Republic Day, stating, “Today is a very happy day. We are rightfully proud. We are rightfully excited. We look to the future with hope.” Consul General Yazal also shared his delight in being at the Turkish House, calling it the home of Turkey and the Turks.
A delicious meal was served to the attendees after the speeches, and the program continued with a musical concert. The atmosphere was filled with celebration and camaraderie as guests enjoyed the festivities in honor of the Republic Day.
