The Bursa Governorship has released a statement regarding the ongoing search and rescue operation for the sunken commercial ship, BATUHAN A. The ship, carrying 6 personnel and 1250 tons of marble dust, sank 4 miles off the north of Karacabey on its way to Gemlik Port.

The Governorship has reported that the search efforts involve 6 rescue boats, 1 Coast Guard corvette, 1 helicopter, 1 reconnaissance patrol plane, and in the following hours, 1 rescue ship belonging to the Naval Forces Command, 1 minelayer, and the General Directorate of Coastal Safety. The Nene Hatun tugboat belonging to Turkey will also participate in the work.

As of 12.00, the search and rescue efforts include 275 personnel, consisting of a total of 6 rescue boats, 28 vehicles, and 1 Coast Guard corvette, with teams from AFAD, Coast Guard, Marine Police, Gendarmerie, UMKE, ANDA, AKUT, and NAK. Additionally, there are currently 1 Coast Guard Search and Rescue Corvette, 3 Coast Guard boats, and 1 Coast Guard participating in the search and rescue activity. A security helicopter, 1 Naval Forces Command Reconnaissance Patrol Aircraft, and 2 Coastal Police boats continue search and rescue activities.

The Governorship has also announced that in the following hours, 1 Naval Forces Command search and rescue ship and 1 minelayer, a Marine Police team with ROV (Underwater Robot) device, and a Nene Hatun tugboat will participate in the search and rescue activities.

The authorities are dedicated to continuing the search and rescue operation in hopes of finding and rescuing the personnel on board the sunken ship.
