Rescue Helicopter Deployed to Search for Missing Group in Chatkal Mountains
An Emergencies Ministry helicopter has been dispatched to search for six missing individuals in the Chatkal district of the Jalal-Abad region in Kyrgyzstan. The group of six went missing while collecting herbs in the mountains, with communication being lost after they ventured into a remote area on October 9th.
Eight out of the 14 individuals who set out on the trip have been found, but the remaining six are still unaccounted for. Local residents suspect that an avalanche in the Ak-Sai mountains area on October 14th may have swept them away. In response to the emergency, at least 20 rescuers from the Emergencies Ministry have been deployed to conduct a search operation using specialized equipment.
The helicopter, which took off from Osh to the Ak-Sai mountains at 7:30 a.m. today, will aid in locating the missing individuals. The rescuers are maintaining continuous communication with the ministry to coordinate efforts and maximize the chances of a successful search and rescue mission. Stay tuned for updates on the ongoing operation.
