Man Rescued After Falling into Well in Istanbul’s Beykoz Forest Area

A man who fell into a deep well in the forest area of Beykoz Riva Neighborhood Çayağzı coast in Istanbul was rescued after an hour-long operation by firefighters, police and medical teams. The incident occurred around 23:30 when Mustafa Başak went out to collect bushes in the forest and did not notice the open 15-meter deep well, falling into it and sustaining injuries. Despite being injured, he managed to call for help which was heard by a citizen passing by. The citizen immediately contacted emergency services, and the rescue operation commenced.

Mustafa Başak was taken to the hospital after receiving first aid at the scene, and it was reported that his condition was not life-threatening. During the rescue efforts, firefighters also rescued a cat that was stuck in the well, which was initially thought to have fallen in as well, but the circumstances surrounding the feline’s presence remain unclear.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, and the authorities have urged caution when entering forested areas and to be aware of potentially hazardous conditions.
