Rescuers Save Person Trapped Underwater in Submerged Vehicle

In a shocking incident that took place on Karakeçili Street in Yükseltepe Mahallesi, drivers faced difficulties due to heavy rainfall, resulting in cars drifting on the road. The incident involved a driver with license plate 07 SC 206, who lost control of the vehicle and started drifting in the flood waters.
The car eventually collided with another stranded vehicle on the same road, bringing it to a halt. The driver attempted to exit the car but struggled against the rising flood waters. Unfortunately, as he descended, he lost his balance and fell beneath the water-engulfed car.
Fortunately, nearby citizens quickly reacted to the situation. Holding onto each other with a rope, they bravely dived into the water to save the trapped driver. By strategically placing heavy vehicles in front of the flood waters, they ensured the driver did not drown. Eventually, the citizens successfully rescued him and medical teams arrived at the scene to provide immediate assistance.
The driver was promptly transported to Ankara Etlik City Hospital for further treatment. With the joint efforts of the rescue teams, the street was reopened to traffic.
Eyewitness Ayhan Özdemir, one of the heroes who participated in the swift rescue operation, shared his account of the incident. He described how the heavy rain caused an initial collision between a white and a gray vehicle. When the floodwaters began to rise, the driver of the white vehicle attempted to exit but slipped and ended up under his own car. With the assistance of other vehicles and a rope, they managed to control the flow of the water and successfully lifted the car to rescue the driver. Thankfully, the driver of the gray vehicle was unharmed.
This alarming incident serves as a reminder of the importance of caution and preparedness during extreme weather conditions. It also highlights the strength of community spirit and the heroic actions of ordinary citizens in times of crisis.
