Landslide threatens Kyzyl-Oi village in Kyrgyzstan, residents evacuated
Bishkek – 17:53, 14 March 2025 – A landslide is posing a threat to Kyzyl-Oi village in the Alai district of Osh region, Kyrgyzstan, leading to the evacuation of residents. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan revealed the alarming situation.
Around 14-15 residential homes are at risk due to the natural disaster. To ensure the safety of the affected families, five households have already received interest-free loans of 200,000 soms as well as new land plots.
The district emergency commission is currently conducting an on-site investigation, while a monitoring service is tracking the dynamics of the landslide and implementing additional measures to prevent further harm.
Preliminary reports indicate that 41 people from eight homes have been temporarily relocated to safe locations, including staying with relatives. Local authorities and ministry officials are collaborating to stabilize the situation and support the impacted residents.
Residents in the area are urged to adhere to safety guidelines and closely follow updates from the authorities. It is crucial to remain vigilant in the face of natural disasters to ensure the well-being of all individuals in the community.
