Retired Miner Missing for 5 Days: Commandos Launch Search Operation
Search for Missing 74-Year-Old İsmet Abalı Continues
İsmet Abalı, a 74-year-old retired miner from Güney Tabaklar village, has been missing for five days. Last seen 200 meters away from his home by neighbors, Abalı has not been heard from since. Upon his family’s report, search and rescue operations were launched by teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command and Devrek District Gendarmerie Command.
In the ongoing five-day search operations, commando teams are focusing on stream beds. Drones provide aerial support, and a tracking dog has also joined the efforts to find Abalı.
His son, Durmuş Abalı, expressed concern saying, “My father disappeared on July 24, just 200 meters away from home. Witnesses reported seeing him wandering on the road for 2-3 hours. It has now been five days, and we have not heard from him. We suspect he may have been harmed or taken away in a vehicle to another location. If anyone has any information, please come forward and help us. He has never gone missing before. We are worried about his well-being.”
İsmet Abalı, who has two children and three grandchildren, remains missing as the search efforts continue.
