Retired Police Officer Confesses to Gruesome Murder of Wife and Son
A shocking incident has recently come to light in Bağcılar, where retired police officer Cengiz Bedir (54) confessed to killing his wife Zeynep Bedir (45) and their son Tarık Bedir (26). The gruesome details of the crime have left the community in shock.
It has been reported that Cengiz Bedir, who was in the process of divorce with his wife, shot them both with a gun, cut off their heads, and placed their bodies in a sack. He then fled to his hometown of Kırklareli where he buried the bodies in a field.
The families of the victims became worried when they couldn’t reach Zeynep Bedir and filed a missing person report with the Istanbul Public Security Branch Directorate. It was later revealed that Zeynep had obtained a restraining order against her husband, adding a chilling layer to the case.
Istanbul police launched a search for the Bedir family and eventually located Cengiz in Kırklareli. He admitted to the murders and led authorities to the burial site. The bodies of Zeynep and Tarık Bedir were found, showing signs of being dismembered after the fatal shootings.
Forensic examinations are currently being conducted on the bodies at the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute. Cengiz Bedir has been detained by the Istanbul Homicide Bureau and is awaiting trial for his heinous crimes.
