Retirees eagerly await news on potential thousand TL bonus difference
16.5 Million Retirees to Receive Increased Bonuses of 3-4 Thousand TL
In a recent announcement by the Social Security Institution (SSI), it has been stated that 16.5 million retirees will be receiving increased bonuses of 3 to 4 thousand TL. The Bayram bonuses are set to be paid starting from Monday, March 24.
According to the new payment schedule, retirees who were supposed to receive their pensions on the 17th, 18th, and 19th of the month got their payments on March 24. Similarly, those with payment dates on the 20th, 21st, and 22nd received their payments on March 25.
Retirees who were expecting their payments on the 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th of the month saw the additional 3 thousand TL feast bonus in their accounts on March 26. Bağ-Kur pensioners, on the other hand, received their monthly payment on March 27.
While payments to those under the Pension Fund were made on March 28, the additional thousand TL difference payments have not been processed yet.
The delay in the adoption of the law proposal led to retirees receiving the 3 thousand TL payment before the feast. However, the law for increasing the Bayram bonuses to 4 thousand TL was approved by the General Assembly and came into effect with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s signature in the Official Gazette.
For those wondering when the bonus difference payments will be made, Social Security Counselor Emin Yılmaz stated, “With the extension of the feast holiday to 9 days by President Erdoğan, two alternatives have emerged for the payment of the 1000 TL difference for retired holiday bonuses. The first option could be between the 7th and 11th of April, and the second option could be added to the next pension payment calendar.”
