Revolutionizing Education: The Impact of 42.uz in Uzbekistan
Azim Polat: Bringing Quality Education to Uzbekistan Through Innovation
Azim Polat, a software engineer at Google and the visionary behind the 42.uz project, is gaining recognition for his mission to make quality education as affordable as a meal. Drawing from his seven years of programming experience at tech giants like Amazon and Facebook, Azim Polat is revolutionizing Uzbekistan’s education landscape with his innovative solutions.
Starting his programming journey faced with obstacles, Azim Polat remembers the high costs of courses that almost deterred him from pursuing his passion. Determined to make programming accessible to all, he founded the 42.uz platform, offering programming courses at a mere 240,000 UZS – equivalent to the price of two meals. The 42-day courses, equipped with automated assessments and personalized learning paths, aim to bridge the gap for aspiring programmers.
Reflecting on his personal growth, Azim Polat draws parallels between problem-solving in programming and his own life challenges. His belief that success can be achieved without substantial financial resources is unwavering, supported by his accomplishments such as winning a Hackathon and attending global conferences.
The 42.uz platform serves as a hub for budding programmers, featuring courses on algorithms, graphic design, and product development. Collaborating with industry experts like Otabek Nurmatov (Dropbox) and Diyorbek Sadullayev (Pinterest), Azim Polat ensures the delivery of high-quality instruction in Uzbek. The platform’s adaptability, offering materials in various formats, and guidance on CV preparation and job applications, positions students for success in the tech industry.
Looking ahead, Azim Polat’s ambitions extend beyond programming education. By 2025, his team plans to digitize textbooks for grades 5–11, enhancing traditional learning with a mobile app designed to gamify education and reward children for their efforts.
With a focus on social impact, Azim Polat reinvests profits from his initiatives into student incentives, aiming to make learning accessible and enjoyable for all. His dedication to education has already garnered him Uzbekistan’s prestigious Symbol of Uzbekistan award, solidifying his status as a trailblazer in the country’s educational realm.
