Domo’s 11th Annual Data Never Sleeps Infographic Reveals Internet Activity Every Minute

Domo has released its annual Data Never Sleeps infographic, showcasing the remarkable amount of internet activity that occurs every minute. The company’s analysts have compiled data to identify some of the most notable annual statistical indicators of events taking place on the World Wide Web.

According to the infographic, a staggering 241 million emails were sent every minute in 2023, up from 231.4 million in 2022. Additionally, Google search queries saw a significant increase, with 6.3 million searches completed every minute in 2023, compared to 5.9 million the previous year – an increase of 6.7%.

Furthermore, the collective use of the internet by global users accumulated to 25.1 million hours, and 360 thousand messages were written on the social network Twitter every minute. The global network’s total audience has also seen steady growth, reaching 5.3 billion users in 2023, up from 4.5 billion in 2020.

Surprisingly, the level of streaming video viewing has decreased, with users streaming a total of 114 years worth of video in 2022, and only 43 years in 2023.

A new addition to this year’s infographic is the inclusion of data on an artificial intelligence chatbot from OpenAI, ChatGPT. The chatbot received a total of 6944 requests every minute.
