River’s Incredible Journey: From Broken to Repaired at Age 6
14-year-old River Habiboğlu, from Günyazı neighborhood in Antakya district, is quickly making a name for himself in the auto mechanic world. Learning the trade from his father, Güven Habiboğlu, who has been in the business for 5 years, River has shown incredible skill and dedication to his craft. Working alongside his father in the family auto care service, River has proven himself capable of handling vehicle maintenance and fixing transmission and engine issues with ease.
Despite attending school in the mornings, River spends most of his afternoons and evenings at the workshop, honing his skills and gaining valuable experience under his father’s tutelage. With dreams of becoming a Mechanical Engineer in the future, River is already being recognized by customers as the ‘River Master’. In a heartwarming gesture, one customer even gifted River a lamb after being pleased with the repair work done on their vehicle. This lamb has since become River’s constant companion, accompanying him to work every day.
Speaking about his newfound friend, River shared, “The lamb has been living with us for 3 months and has been my colleague for 3 months now. I have been working with my father since I was 6 years old, and I love this job. I hope to pursue a career as a mechanical engineer in the future.”
Güven Habiboğlu, River’s father, expressed how the lamb has brought a positive change to his son’s work routine. “Ever since the lamb arrived, River’s demeanor at work has completely transformed. Now, he has a loyal companion by his side at all times,” he said.
One of the customers, Mukhtar Yakup Yilmaz, who was impressed with River’s workmanship, decided to gift him the lamb as a token of appreciation. Reflecting on his experience, Yilmaz shared, “River Master repaired my car expertly, and I wanted to show my gratitude by giving him a special gift.”
With a bright future ahead and a loyal lamb by his side, River Habiboğlu continues to excel in the world of auto mechanics, earning the respect and admiration of both his customers and peers.
