Rizeli Body Shop Constructs Home on 12-Meter Iron Pole
Bodywork master Cihat Çelik, from Rize, has recently accomplished a childhood dream by building a unique wooden house on a 12-meter iron pole in the Derebaşı village. This extraordinary house was designed in such a way that wild animals would not be able to enter, providing a safe and serene environment for Çelik’s family.
At 38 years old, Çelik shared that his adventurous spirit and love for unconventional structures inspired him to embark on this ambitious project. Despite facing challenges such as bad roads and difficulty maneuvering the crane during construction, he persevered and successfully completed the 70 square meter bungalow house. The house stands at a height of 12 meters above the ground at the entrance and 20 meters above the ground at the roof, offering a breathtaking view of the surroundings.
Although the construction process was not without its difficulties, including a serious accident that resulted in a skull and spinal cord injury for Çelik, he remained determined to see his dream come to fruition. After undergoing lengthy treatment and despite having 4 platinums in his spinal cord, he returned to work and continued building his dream house.
The unique design of the house, which is not commonly seen, has attracted attention from locals and visitors alike. Orhan Alptekin and İshak Güngör, who were impressed by the engineering marvel of the house, expressed their admiration for Çelik’s achievement. Similarly, Cem Sultan Karabulut, who closely followed the construction process, highlighted the resilience and determination of Çelik in overcoming challenges and completing the project.
As Çelik continues to work on the finishing touches of the house, he remains grateful for the opportunity to realize his dream. He envisions the house not only as a personal accomplishment but also as a potential tourist attraction that showcases the beauty and innovation of the Black Sea region. Despite facing skepticism and obstacles along the way, Çelik’s unwavering determination and perseverance have proven that with dedication and hard work, even the most unconventional dreams can become a reality.
