
Road Construction Begins Tomorrow – BRTK

Prime Minister Ünal Üsel and Public Works and Transportation Minister Erhan Arıklı recently conducted inspections on the way to Kyrenia – Çatalköy, also known as the Kyrenia Eastern Ring Road. The officials were accompanied by Çatalköy – Esentepe Municipality Mayor Ceyhun Kırkok, Director of the Highways Department Kazım Kafaoğlu, and other officials during the investigation.
Mayor Ceyhun Kırkok stated that the road had become an ordeal for the people, but with the completion of the Kyrenia Eastern Ring Road in the coming days, it will provide relief to the citizens. Minister Erhan Arıklı emphasized that the new road will offer more comfortable and safe driving opportunities, including various infrastructure improvements.
Prime Minister Ünal Üsel highlighted the significance of this project, which had been delayed for many years. He expressed his commitment to completing the road construction by 2026 and emphasized the importance of creating a safer and more contemporary road for the people of the region.
Both officials also visited the Nicosia -Girne Mountain Road project site to assess the progress. Minister Arıklı mentioned the challenges faced in starting the project due to expropriation issues but assured that the necessary steps were being taken to initiate the construction.
The Kyrenia Eastern Ring Road and Nicosia – Kyrenia Mountain Road projects involve extensive construction works to improve road infrastructure and ensure road safety. These new developments aim to create a more modern and efficient transportation network in the region by 2026.
