Romanian Mentor Impressed by Kazakh Students’ Petrochemical Skills and Enthusiasm
Romanian Mentor Commends Kazakh Students for Exceptional Preparation and Eagerness to Learn
Traian Stănică, a Romanian mentor and production manager at Rompetrol Rafinare, has praised Kazakh students for their outstanding preparation and enthusiasm for learning during the International Traineeship Program organized by the KazMunayGas (KMG) International group of companies. Stănică shared his thoughts with TengriNews on Dec. 25, highlighting the students’ dedication and thirst for knowledge.
“They participated in debates, sought to better understand phenomena, approaches, and ways to solve various problems. When I became their mentor, I understood their way of thinking and communication and saw their thirst for knowledge, desire to learn, and achieve success in their chosen profession,” Stănică expressed.
The program, a collaboration between KMG International and leading Kazakh universities, offers young oil and gas industry specialists a month-long internship at one of the top refineries in Europe. To date, over 80 Kazakh students have completed internships at the Petromidia refinery in Romania, managed by KMG International’s subsidiary, Rompetrol Rafinare.
The traineeship provides a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, allowing participants to work with real installations and develop practical skills. Each intern is guided by a mentor who assists them in navigating the complexities of the production process.
This initiative addresses Kazakhstan’s pressing need for skilled labor, with projections indicating a demand for 400,000 blue-collar workers in the next five years. Recognizing the significance of workforce development, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has designated 2025 as the Year of Working Professions, underscoring the role of well-trained specialists in driving industry progress.
