RTÜK President Şahin Issues Warning to Publisher Organizations
RTÜK President Şahin attended the Darüceze Social Life City’s “Heart All Together Together” program, where he participated in an iftar program and later answered questions from the press. During the program, Şahin addressed the issue of illegal broadcasting organizations and the application of sanctions.
“In his statement titled ‘Open to Publisher Organizations and Very Important Warnings,’ Şahin emphasized the importance of cracking down on illegal broadcasting organizations. He revealed that warnings were sent to television channels just last night in response to violations,” the official shared.
While some may criticize RTÜK’s stance on issuing warnings, Şahin defended the move as necessary to prevent the spread of misinformation and protect the public. He highlighted the role of RTÜK in maintaining a sense of harmony and preventing any broadcasts that could incite hatred or anger within society.
Şahin clarified that the warnings issued by RTÜK are not a form of censorship, but rather a means of enforcing regulations and ensuring compliance with the law. He emphasized that the organization’s actions are in line with the principles outlined in the Constitution and the guidelines set by the board.
Moving forward, Şahin affirmed that RTÜK will continue to monitor and issue warnings to any publications that violate the established standards. He stressed the importance of upholding the integrity of the media landscape and protecting the public from harmful or illegal content.
