
Russia Begins Preparations for Solar Plant in Issyk-Kul

Unigreen Energy to Construct a 300 MW Solar Power Plant in Issyk-Kul Region
The Russian company Unigreen Energy has commenced preparatory work for the construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 300 MW in Issyk-Kul region. This was announced during a meeting in Bishkek between the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Akylbek Japarov, and representatives of the company.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the progress of the project and the company informed the head of the Cabinet of Ministers that coordination of documents with authorized bodies is nearing completion, and preparatory work has already begun at the site of the solar power plant.
The development of renewable energy sources has been prioritized by officials, and maximum efforts will be made to address any issues hindering the implementation of the project. The project has also been instructed to be included in the priority plan for 2024.
The solar power plant is set to be constructed in the area of Toru-Aigyr village, with an estimated project cost of $270-300 million.
This initiative reflects the Kyrgyz Republic’s commitment to developing sustainable energy solutions and reducing dependence on traditional energy sources. The construction of this solar power plant will not only contribute to the region’s energy independence but also support global efforts towards a greener and more sustainable future.
