Russia Implements Temporary Ban on Gasoline Exports

Russia Extends Ban on Gasoline Exports Until August

Bishkek, 27 February 2025 – The Russian government has announced the extension of the ban on gasoline exports from March 1 to August 31, in an effort to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market and support the oil refining economy.

According to a statement on the government’s Telegram channel, the decision was made to prevent gray export of motor gasoline and to ensure that companies that do not produce gasoline are not able to export it during this period.

This extension comes after a previous ban on gasoline exports that was implemented last year from March to August. While the embargo was temporarily lifted in May, it was later reinstated, with exceptions for companies that produce more than 1 million tons of gasoline per year.

The latest restriction will not apply to supplies made directly by petroleum product producers, with the aim of preventing any disruptions in the fuel market and maintaining a steady supply of gasoline within Russia.

The government’s decision is part of ongoing efforts to regulate the fuel market and prevent any potential shortages or price fluctuations that could negatively impact the economy.
