Russia’s "Transport of the Future" to Launch Drone Production Facility in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan — A new joint venture is set to revolutionize the drone industry in Uzbekistan with plans to launch a facility for civilian drone production by the end of 2025. The initiative, spearheaded by Russia’s "Transport of the Future," was unveiled by CEO Yuri Kozarenko during the plenary session of the INNOPROM International Industrial Exhibition.
Kozarenko emphasized the growing demand for drone technology, noting that extensive market analysis confirms the feasibility of integrating thousands of drones into the economy. "This integration ensures greater profitability and operational efficiency," he stated. The joint venture is projected to be operational by the end of this year, with an output exceeding $100 million.
Initially, the facility will produce drones with a localization level of around 50%, indicating significant local involvement in the manufacturing process. Kozarenko highlighted that this project represents a vital component for the development and application of drone technology in the region.
For the effective and safe deployment of drones, Kozarenko mentioned the importance of collaborating with regulatory bodies, including Rosaviatsiya, Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency, and the Civil Aviation Agency under Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport (UzAviation). He underscored the need for the necessary infrastructure to facilitate safe and cost-effective operations.
Furthermore, "Transport of the Future" aims to foster a mutually beneficial relationship with Uzbekistan, positioning Russia not only as a technology provider but also as a consumer of the final products developed in the joint venture. This ambitious project could pave the way for significant advancements in the drone industry and strengthen economic ties between Russia and Uzbekistan.
As the country prepares to embark on this innovative journey, it marks a crucial step toward reshaping the future of transport technology in Central Asia.
