Russian Airlines Request Permission to Fly to Uzbekistan
Nine Russian airlines have submitted applications to operate new flights to the capital city of Uzbekistan, Tashkent. In addition, permission has been requested for flights from St. Petersburg and Krasnoyarsk to Tashkent, according to information from Rosaviatsiya.
The airlines that have requested permission for new flights to Tashkent include Aeroflot, UTair, IrAero, NordStar, Ural Airlines, Smartavia, AZUR Air, North Wind, and Yakutia. Aeroflot alone has applied for 11 new flights to the Uzbek capital, while other airlines have requested between 2 and 7 flights.
Apart from Tashkent, seven airlines have also applied to operate direct flights between St. Petersburg and Tashkent, with plans to operate from 2 to 7 flights per week.
Furthermore, there are plans to increase the number of flights connecting the Russian capital with the cities of Bukhara and Urgench. Russian airlines have submitted applications for 39 weekly flights to Urgench and an additional 5 flights to Bukhara.
The increased interest in operating flights to Uzbekistan indicates the growing demand for travel between the two countries. This development could further enhance the cultural and economic exchange between Russia and Uzbekistan.
