Russian Ambassador Presents Credentials to Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The newly appointed Russian Ambassador, Sergei Vakunov, recently presented his credentials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan. This significant event was reported by the press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
During the meeting, First Deputy Foreign Minister Asein Isaev and Ambassador Vakunov discussed various important issues related to the development of Kyrgyzstan-Russia relations. These included plans to further enhance political dialogue and increase collaboration in trade, economic, humanitarian, and other key areas.
On July 5, 2024, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Asein Isaev formally accepted the copies of Ambassador Vakunov’s credentials. This marked the official beginning of Vakunov’s role as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic.
It is worth noting that Ambassador Vakunov is taking over from his predecessor, former Russian Ambassador Nikolai Udovichenko, who concluded his mission in Kyrgyzstan in June 2024.
This exchange of credentials symbolizes the ongoing commitment of both countries to maintaining strong diplomatic ties and working together towards mutual goals. The appointment of Ambassador Vakunov is expected to further strengthen the relationship between Kyrgyzstan and Russia in the years to come.
