Kyrgyzstan and Russia Discuss Bilateral Cooperation During Meeting in Kazakhstan
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, recently met with Chairman of the Russian Government, Mikhail Mishustin, during a working visit to Kazakhstan. The meeting took place as part of the regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty.
The two leaders discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues, focusing on economic cooperation, trade development, energy security, and transport links. They also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and other regional initiatives.
During the meeting, Mishustin expressed concern about alleged “administrative pressure on Russian companies in Kyrgyzstan.” He asked Kasymaliev to ensure the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of Russian investors in the country.
In response, Kasymaliev mentioned that he would address this issue with relevant departments upon returning to Bishkek, emphasizing the importance of preserving strong and mutually beneficial partnerships between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
Overall, the meeting served as a platform for both countries to reaffirm their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing any challenges that may arise in the future.
