Russian Language Continues to Hold Significant Role in Kyrgyzstan – Sadyr Japarov
The 10th Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan recently met for a celebratory event marking the 30th anniversary of the Assembly. The gathering took place at the Ala-Archa state residence on June 24th, as reported by the press service of the head of state.
President Sadyr Japarov addressed the delegates, congratulating them on this significant milestone. His speech was delivered by Secretary of State Suyunbek Kasmambetov. Japarov highlighted the diversity of over a hundred ethnic groups that make up the people of Kyrgyzstan, coming together to celebrate the country’s achievements, navigate challenges, and live in peace and unity on the sacred land of Ala-Too.
The President recognized the vital role of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan, which was established during the first kurultai of the people in 1994. Since then, the Assembly has played a key role in promoting unity, enhancing interethnic relations, and fostering civil equality.
In his address, Japarov mentioned issuing decrees to strengthen state policies on interethnic relations and enhancing the status of the Council of the Assembly. He also highlighted the approval of the concept for developing civic identity Kyrgyz Zharany for 2021-2026, demonstrating the government’s commitment to supporting the preservation and development of native languages, culture, and traditions of ethnic communities in Kyrgyzstan.
The President emphasized the importance of language as a tool for cultural enrichment and spiritual growth. He stressed the significance of promoting multilingual education and fostering a citizen of Kyrgyzstan who is proficient in various languages, including the state, native, official, and foreign languages.
Japarov pointed out the crucial need to enhance the status of the Assembly of the People of Kyrgyzstan in recognition of its role in strengthening national unity and interethnic relations. The government remains dedicated to promoting inclusivity and diversity, ensuring that all individuals feel represented and valued within the Kyrgyzstani society.
