Russia to Remove Taliban from List of Terrorist Organizations
A significant decision has been made at the highest level in Russia to remove the radical Taliban movement from the list of terrorist organizations. However, the necessary legal procedures still need to be followed, according to the Special Representative of the Russian President for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov.
In a statement to journalists, Kabulov mentioned that the Foreign Ministry, along with the FSB and several other Russian agencies, is finalizing the legal work required for the process of removing the Taliban from the terrorist list of the Russian Federation. He emphasized that the decision was made by Russia’s top leadership, and all processes must be conducted within the framework of Russian law.
The Russian authorities are expected to announce the final decision on removing the Taliban from the list of terrorist organizations soon. Kabulov stated that meticulous legal work is currently underway to ensure compliance with federal laws and proper procedures.
