Ryan Gosling shifts away from dark roles
Ryan Gosling has announced a major career shift, deciding to no longer take on dark or psychologically twisted roles in order to prioritize his mental health and his family. The actor, who is married to actress Eva Mendes and has two children, explained that he wants to choose roles that align with the mood in his household and are beneficial for his family.
Gosling, known for his roles in films like “The Believer” and “Murder by Numbers,” recently starred in lighter fare such as “La La Land” and “Barbie.” He shared that the change in his career trajectory came about after working on “La La Land,” where he realized the importance of selecting roles that would be enjoyable for his family as well.
The actor revealed, “I don’t take on roles that will put me in a dark place. This is the moment where I try to read the mood in the house and feel what would be best for all of us. I make the decisions I make together with Eva, and we make decisions considering our family first.” Gosling also mentioned that his children’s interest in Barbie and their creative play inspired him to choose roles that would resonate with them.
Gosling’s latest film, “Stuntman,” an action comedy co-starring Emily Blunt, is currently playing in theaters. As he continues to navigate his career and prioritize his family, fans can expect to see him in more light-hearted and family-friendly projects in the future.
