Sabancı Volunteers Celebrate Republic’s 100th Anniversary Through Service
The Sabancı Group’s Republic Mobilization initiative has seen a new wave of projects and activities that continue to make a positive impact across Turkey. This year, the mobilization has seen the participation of 22 thousand Sabancı Volunteers who have organized a total of 270 events in 48 cities over the past 2 years. Additionally, employees from CarrefourSA have also been actively involved in mobilization activities in various provinces.
Kutay Kartallıoğlu, the CEO of CarrefourSA, highlighted the company’s commitment to Turkey and its people, as well as its dedication to adding value to the nation for the past 30 years. He emphasized the company’s responsibility towards a sustainable future and expressed the importance of working hard to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic. Kartallıoğlu added, “Because there is no other land, there is no other republic.”
Under the scope of the Sabancı Republic Mobilization, CarrefourSA organized events in Çorlu and Pendik focused on sustainable agriculture. In Çorlu, the company purchased 10 tons of products from local producers during the apple harvest and transported them to CarrefourSA stores. In Pendik’s Göçbeyli village, CarrefourSA worked on the Urban Agriculture project, improving physical and hygiene conditions while providing training for correct production to local farmers. Additionally, the company collaborated with women’s cooperatives, providing food literacy, hygiene, and food safety training to female producers. The activities culminated in an olive crushing event involving 150 Sabancı volunteers.
Kartallıoğlu emphasized the company’s continued commitment to supporting local producers and sustainable production. He affirmed, “We will continue to stand by these lands and those who produce for these lands, and to protect the legacy of our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and to work to leave a clean world to future generations.” Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Republic through productive and value-adding activities, CarrefourSA remains dedicated to making a positive impact on Turkey and its people.
