Sadyr Japarov gifts UN Secretary-General

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres recently visited the Rukh-Ordo Cultural Center in the city of Cholpon-Ata, located in the Issyk-Kul region. The two dignitaries were treated to a concert program featuring opera singers and a ballet performance during their visit.
As they strolled along a pier designed in the form of a komuz, traditional musicians in national attire serenaded them with folk music. President Japarov then demonstrated a gesture of deep appreciation by presenting Secretary-General Guterres with a special gift – a komuz, the national instrument of Kyrgyzstan.
This visit highlights the cultural exchanges and diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and the United Nations. The event at the Rukh-Ordo Cultural Center showcased the rich heritage and artistic talents of the Kyrgyz people, emphasizing the importance of cultural diplomacy in promoting mutual understanding and cooperation on the international stage.
