Saida Mirziyoyeva: All Violence Must Be Punished
The head of the PA department, Saida Mirziyoyeva, has responded to the sentencing of a dangerous criminal who brutally raped and killed a 12-year-old girl in the Yangihayot district of Tashkent. The Yakkasaray district court on criminal proceedings has sentenced the defendant, who was designated as a high-risk recidivist, to life imprisonment after being found guilty of violating the provisions of administrative control, defamation, intentional homicide, and other articles of the Criminal Code.
Mirziyoyeva acknowledged that the punishment does not alleviate the suffering of the girl’s parents or compensate for their loss, but maintained that it was a fair court decision. She emphasized that punishing criminals responsible for such terrible crimes is an essential part of the law to prevent future violence.
The incident occurred on January 31 this year when the girl did not return home after going to school. The killer was later identified as the girl’s neighbor, who worked in the house where she lived. The public was shocked by the heinous crime that took place in the Yangihayot district of Tashkent.
