Sakarya Exports Reach 711 Million Dollars in March
The Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO) recently announced that exports from the city totaled 711 million dollars in March. This figure represents a 15 percent decrease compared to the same month last year and a 9.7 percent decrease from February.
According to the Ministry of Commerce’s “Exports by Provinces of Activity” data, Sakarya contributed 3.1 percent to the total country’s exports in March, ranking as the 9th province in this regard. The leading sectors in exports from Sakarya last month included the automotive industry, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, chemicals, industrial products, steel, and air conditioning industries.
The statement highlighted that businesses in Sakarya exported to 123 countries, including free zones, with France, Italy, Poland, and the United Kingdom being the top destinations for Sakarya exports.
SATSO Chairman of the Board of Directors, Akgün Altuğ, noted the importance of production in maintaining dominance in the export market. Altuğ mentioned that despite the overall decline in exports, there was an increase in exports to 64 countries compared to the previous year. He emphasized the significance of technological production with added value and high kg/price value to improve export unit prices.
Altuğ expressed gratitude towards the Sakarya business community for their efforts in producing high-quality Turkish origin products for the global market. He emphasized the importance of continued production efforts to overcome challenges and enhance the country’s production capabilities.
Overall, despite challenges and fluctuations, Sakarya’s export industry remains active and resilient, aiming to expand its global reach and contribute to the country’s economy.
