Samarkand Access Limited for International Summit
Due to the upcoming “Central Asia – European Union” summit, entry to the historic city of Samarkand will be restricted on April 3, 4, and 5. The Samarkand Regional Traffic Safety Department has announced that entry roads to the city will be temporarily closed during these dates.
In order to accommodate transit vehicles passing through the region, a detour route will be arranged and special flyers have been prepared for drivers. These flyers can also be accessed via a QR code through a mobile application. Drivers are urged to strictly adhere to the established rules and regulations during this time.
Travelers who have plans to visit Samarkand during April 3, 4, and 5 are advised to consider postponing their trips if possible. The department has emphasized the importance of following the restrictions put in place for the summit.
