Despite Israel’s official stance denying any breakthroughs in the ongoing ceasefire negotiations taking place in Cairo, reports from major news outlets indicate significant advances in the discussions. According to sources from Saudi news channels Al Arabiya and Al Hadath, a preliminary agreement has been reached enabling the release of several hostages who have been held in Gaza since May, including at least one American citizen.
Further meetings between Egyptian officials and representatives of both Hamas and Israel are expected to continue in the days to come. An Israeli delegation member revealed that "things are moving positively," with sources highlighting a hopeful exchange of messages that await a political decision from Israel.
The proposed agreement appears comprehensive and is nearing conclusion, with American efforts reportedly playing a crucial role in pressuring Hamas through various mediators. Importantly, a structure for delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza has also been agreed upon, which will involve the establishment of three secure corridors supervised by mediators.

This development follows Hamas’s rejection of an Israeli proposal for a 45-day truce in exchange for 10 living Israeli hostages, with the Palestinian group insisting on a comprehensive agreement that entails an end to hostilities and an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Conversely, Israel emphasizes the need for the release of all hostages and the disarmament of Hamas.
