Schoolgirl Assaulted at Nookat School, Case Closed by Police
A tenth-grade student at an innovative school in the Nookat district of Osh region was brutally beaten by a classmate, resulting in a broken nose. The incident, which took place on December 19, 2024, has caused uproar among the victim’s family and school officials.
The victim’s mother has spoken out against the school administration, holding them responsible for the absence of key staff members during the time of the incident. She claims that her daughter had been bullied and humiliated by her classmates ever since two classes were combined in September. Despite reaching out to teachers for help, her pleas were ignored, leading to the violent attack by a fellow student.
In response to the incident, the Department of Internal Affairs in Osh opened a criminal case under the charge of “Hooliganism.” However, the case was later closed due to insufficient evidence, a decision that was supported by the district prosecutor’s office.
The Ministry of Education and Science has taken action against the school administration, issuing reprimands and warnings to those responsible for the safety and well-being of students. The district education department has also stepped in, reprimanding the principal and head teacher and taking control of the school in question.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining a safe and supportive environment for students in schools, and the need for swift and effective action in response to incidents of violence and bullying.
