Scientists Warn of Approaching Star Three Times Larger than Mount Everest

Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks, also known as a cryovolcanic or cold volcano, has captured the attention of astronomers once again. With an estimated diameter of 30 km, this space rock consists of ice, dust, and gases that behave like baking soda in a fizzy drink bottle.
Interestingly, when observed through a telescope, this celestial event creates the illusion of a massive pair of horns. It is the second occurrence of this phenomenon within a span of four months.
Astronomers have recently announced that a comet three times the size of Mount Everest has exploded in space and is now heading towards Earth. This remarkable event will make the comet visible to the naked eye as it reaches its closest point to our planet on April 21, 2024. The comet’s trajectory is expected to pass Earth tangentially.
The peculiar shape of the comet has attracted attention as well. Some observers have compared its horseshoe-like appearance to the Millennium Falcon spaceship from the iconic Star Wars franchise.
It is noteworthy that the last time the comet was visible on Earth with the naked eye was 69 years ago in 1954. This makes its current journey towards Earth an incredibly rare and special spectacle.
As we await the arrival of this magnificent comet in 2024, astronomers and space enthusiasts around the world are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to witness this extraordinary event firsthand.
