SCNS Halts Illegal Imports from EAEU Countries
Bishkek – The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan has successfully thwarted an attempt to illegally import goods and materials from the EAEU countries without paying mandatory taxes. The press center of the committee reported that the illegal activity was intercepted in the Talas region.
On May 31, two Mercedes-Benz Atego trucks were stopped at the Chon-Kapka – Avtodorozhny checkpoint. Upon inspection, a significant amount of textile products and other goods worth over 20 million soms were found without the required documentation.
Investigative and operational measures are now underway to identify any accomplices involved in this unlawful act and to determine the extent of the financial damage caused by the non-payment of mandatory taxes and other deductions. The State Committee for National Security is committed to ensuring the security and integrity of Kyrgyzstan’s borders and will continue to take action against illegal activities that threaten the country’s economic stability.
