SDMK Leader Urges Scientific Approach to Combat Destructive Movements

The head of the Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan (SDMK), Abdulaziz Zakirov, has expressed concerns about the increasing influence of non-traditional religious movements and destructive trends. During a recent SDMK board meeting, Zakirov emphasized the need to combat these movements through a scientific approach.

Zakirov urged clerics to carry out their duties sincerely and faithfully, without neglecting their responsibilities. He emphasized the importance of professionalism, flexibility, and moral principles among SDMK employees, stating that they should serve as examples for others.

The Mufti also discussed decisions made by the Ulemas Council and formed special commissions to strengthen traditional Islamic concepts, combat radicalism and extremism, prevent the infiltration of non-traditional movements into religious institutions, and monitor the dress code of clergy.

The SDMK is taking proactive measures to address these challenges and uphold the values of the traditional Islamic community in Kyrgyzstan. With the support of the Mufti and the collective efforts of its members, the SDMK is working towards promoting religious harmony and countering negative influences within the Muslim community.
