An unclaimed suitcase caused a security scare at Istanbul Airport
A suspicious incident occurred around 23:15 at the main gate entrance of Istanbul Airport when an unattended suitcase was discovered near the entrance door. The authorities considered the suitcase to be suspicious, prompting police teams to take extensive security measures and close the main entrance to vehicles. Bomb disposal teams were quickly called to the scene to assess the situation.
As a precaution, the unclaimed suitcase was detonated in a controlled manner with a detonator. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the exploded suitcase only contained clothes. The entire entrance to the airport had to be closed for 20 minutes in response to the suspicious luggage.
