Security forces and police officers in Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region have conducted searches at the homes of local residents, according to a statement by the State Committee for National Security (SCNS). The search operation covered 13 addresses.

During the searches, authorities found and confiscated 142 instances of books, leaflets, brochures, as well as 38 electronic data storage devices such as USB drives and CDs, and 28 mobile phones. A theological examination concluded that the materials seized contained extremist content published by the Hizb ut-Tahrir terrorist organization.

As a result, criminal cases have been initiated under the charge of “Manufacture and distribution of extremist materials” as per the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The SCNS’s actions are part of the government’s efforts to combat extremism and maintain national security. The search operation aims to identify and dismantle any potential threats posed by individuals or organizations intending to propagate extremist ideologies.

These recent actions demonstrate the Kyrgyz government’s commitment to maintaining peace and security within the nation and combating the spread of extremist ideologies. By cracking down on the distribution of extremist materials, authorities aim to protect the population from radicalization and preserve the harmonious fabric of society.

The State Committee for National Security will continue its efforts to monitor and investigate any activities or individuals promoting extremism, reinforcing the country’s dedication to preserving peace and stability.
