Seiren to Invest HUF 15 Billion, Creating 170 Jobs in Southwest Hungary

Japanese company Seiren has opened its first plant in Europe, located in Pécs, southwest Hungary. The HUF 15 billion (EUR 40.3m) car seat cover plant will produce 2.5 million metres of eco-friendly seat cover for Europe’s car market and is expected to create 170 jobs. The Hungarian government supported the investment with a HUF 4.5 billion grant. The announcement was made by Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s minister of foreign affairs and trade. Szijjártó said that Hungary’s low taxes, stable political system and lack of discrimination based on geography make the country an attractive investment destination that is successfully entering the competition for investments in Eastern Europe.
