Serbia’s Commitment to EU Membership and Prosperity: Marko Djuric’s Pledge
Serbia remains committed to its EU aspirations
Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, is continuing its journey towards European Union membership with steadfast determination. Serbia’s acting Foreign Minister, Marko Djuric, recently met with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas to reaffirm the country’s commitment to joining the EU and contributing to Europe’s prosperity.
During the meeting, Djuric emphasized that Serbia considers EU membership to be a strategic choice. He highlighted Serbia’s unwavering dedication to its European path and expressed the country’s desire to play a constructive role in promoting peace, stability, and prosperity within Europe as a reliable partner.
Serbia’s government issued a press statement following the meeting, stating that Djuric hopes the European Union will recognize and appreciate Serbia’s efforts towards integration. The minister also underscored Serbia’s core interests in maintaining regional stability, fostering cooperation among neighboring countries, and enhancing good neighborly relations.

Currently, Serbia is an official candidate for EU accession, alongside other countries like Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Turkey, and Ukraine.
