Minister Çavuş Pays Tribute to Tashkent Martyrs on Memorial Day
Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hüseyin Çavuş, has spoken out about the tragic events that took place in Tashkent village on August 14, 1974. The Tashkent Martyrs were innocent victims of a brutal attack during a time of great struggle for the Turkish Cypriot people.
In a message commemorating Tashkent Martyrs’ Memorial Day, Minister Çavuş expressed his deep sorrow and respect for the martyrs. He emphasized the importance of honoring the memories of those who lost their lives in the pursuit of a better future for their people.
“We will never forget the sacrifices made by our martyrs,” Minister Çavuş stated. “Their pain will always be in our hearts, and their memories will always be in our minds. We owe a debt of gratitude to them, and we will ensure that their legacy lives on forever.”
On this solemn occasion, Minister Çavuş offered his prayers for the souls of the Tashkent Martyrs and all other precious martyrs. He also extended his condolences and support to their families and the entire Turkish Cypriot community.
As the nation remembers the Tashkent Martyrs and their sacrifice, Minister Çavuş reaffirmed his commitment to building a peaceful future based on the values for which they gave their lives. He called for unity and solidarity among the people to uphold these cherished principles.
