Turkey reports no cases of monkeypox

The World Health Organization has declared the M smallpox disease a “public health emergency of international concern”, following an Emergency Committee Meeting held on August 14, 2024. This decision comes as a response to the increasing cases of the disease, especially in the African continent.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Health on social media, it was emphasized that Turkey has not yet reported any cases of M pox disease in 2024. As a result, there are currently no restrictions or additional measures necessary in the country. The Ministry assured that they are conducting necessary studies and closely monitoring the situation with their scientific board and health infrastructure.
The M pox disease, also known as monkeypox, is a rare viral disease that primarily affects animals but can also be transmitted to humans. It causes symptoms similar to smallpox, including fever, rash, and flu-like symptoms. It is important for countries to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the disease.
