Signature Collection Begins for Vladimir Putin’s Presidential Candidacy

The gathering of signatures for Vladimir Putin’s candidacy in the Russian presidential elections has officially begun, as reported by the candidate’s election headquarters. The collection will last until the end of January and will involve specially trained volunteers collecting signatures in their respective regions. Lawyers have also been briefed on possible violations that may occur during the process.

The Presidential Movement plans to organize gatherings in all 89 regions of Russia, with headquarters open even on weekends. To ensure convenience for citizens wishing to sign for Putin, a schedule for accepting signatures and contact details of headquarters will be published on social networks to avoid long queues. Over a thousand movement volunteers will be participating in the gathering.

In addition, “United Russia” will also be collecting signatures in support of Putin, utilizing the Party’s infrastructure in the regions and providing training for signature collectors.

Vladimir Putin submitted his candidacy documents to the country’s Central Election Commission on December 18 for self-nomination as a presidential candidate. As per the law, a self-nominated candidate must collect at least 300 thousand voter signatures, with a minimum of 7.5 thousand signatures from each subject of the Russian Federation. The deadline to submit signatures in support of the candidate is from December 27 to January 31. The Central Election Commission will then review the documents and make a decision within 10 days on whether to register the candidate for the elections or to refuse the candidacy.

The Russian presidential elections are scheduled to take place on March 17 next year.

We will continue to provide updates on this important event as more information becomes available.
