Signatures for Domestic Air Defense Projects

The agreement secured the completion of acceptance activities for the Long Range Regional Air and Missile Defense System SİPER Product-1 by May 2024, with mass production deliveries scheduled to commence in January 2026.

Görgün emphasized the country’s progress from previously seeking permissions from other nations, to becoming a formidable and independent force with its own advanced electronic warfare capabilities and air defense systems.

The SİPER Project, developed by ASELSAN A.Ş., ROKETSAN A.Ş., and TÜBİTAK SAGE Business Partnership, aims to address the need for a long-range regional air and missile defense system in Turkey. The associated Product-1 and Product-2, with extended ranges and altitudes, bolster the country’s air defense mission across various layers and terrains.

Additionally, the HİSAR-A+ and HİSAR-O+ systems have been pivotal developments in Turkey’s defense capabilities, offering autonomous air defense for armored mechanized mobile units and regional air defense missions, respectively.
